Ryks Davies (He/Him)

I’m Ryks (he/him), a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) originally from small-town Comox, BC. After completing my diploma in Massage Therapy at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy (WCCMT) in Victoria, I came to love this bustling little community that I now proudly call home. As a practising healthcare professional, I’m dedicated to providing comprehensive rehabilitation through evidence-based manual and exercise therapies. As a therapist, I see myself as a listener first and a talker second.

My approach is patient-centered, always prioritizing the needs and goals of those under my care. I hold firmly to the belief that no patient should have to advocate for themself to receive the care they deserve—the hard part should end the moment they step into my office. The patients who tend to thrive in my care are those with a strong willingness to improve, whether they’re navigating orthopaedic or neurological injuries, pre- or post-operative recovery, or chronic conditions.

Even as someone new to the profession, I’m driven by a deep curiosity about the nervous system, a fascination that grew throughout my education. When treating chronic and neurological conditions, I draw inspiration from works such as The Brain That Changes Itself by Dr. Norman Doidge and The Master and His Emissary by Dr. Iain McGilchrist, using principles of neuroplasticity to enhance patient outcomes.

Outside of work, I enjoy long-distance running and swimming, exploring the beautiful Canadian West Coast that shaped me. When indoors, you’ll likely find me playing guitar or relaxing with a good video game.
