Accessibility at Allies
Our Commitment
to Accessibility
If you have any questions or specific accessibility needs, please reach out to us at hello@alliesintegrated.health—we’re happy to help and will do our best to respond within a week. We look forward to welcoming you to our clinic!
We strive to make Allies accessible.
Some of the ways we do this include:
Mobility

- The parking lot attached to the clinic has designated accessible parking spaces.
- A ramp leads from the parking area to the front entrance of the building.
- The front door has an automatic button for easy access.
- The building has an elevator to the lower floor, where our clinic is located.
- Our clinic’s front door is not automatic at this time, but it may be propped open. If it is closed, please knock or call the front desk, and our staff will be happy to assist.
- Our treatment rooms are equipped with hydraulic tables that can be lowered or raised as needed for accessibility.
- There is one wheelchair accessible, gender neutral washroom at the end of the hall, outside of our clinic space and shared with the other tenants in the building.
Sensory-friendly
adjustments

– Adjusting the lights to your preference, by dimming or from yellow to white lighting
– Patients may bring their own light-blocking face mask to wear during some treatments
– Adjusting or turning off the music, Patients may also bring their own music and connect to the treatment room speaker via Bluetooth
– Providing extra blankets, heating pads, bolsters, or additional padding for comfort
– Offering earplugs for noise sensitivity
– Providing water or tea upon request
Gender-neutral
washrooms

- One washroom contains two individual stalls.
- The other washroom has one stall and one urinal.
Both washrooms require a code to enter, which we’re happy to provide upon request. If remembering codes isn’t your thing, just ask a staff member for a portable card with the code written on it.
If you require specific accommodations, please let us know in advance so we can ensure your visit is as comfortable as possible.
Financial Accessibility
We’re excited to share that Allies was awarded a grant from the Tegan and Sara Foundation to launch our Patient Accessibility Fund. This is a no-questions-asked fund for anyone who can’t access the care they need because of financial stress.
Alongside the grant, we also created our Swim Packer project. A swim packer is a handmade, waterproof, penis-shaped garment insert designed for trans men to wear in swim shorts for a natural appearance. They’re affordable, comfortable, and don’t require special trunks. When you buy a swim packer, you’re not only accessing a gender-affirming product, you’re also helping us keep this fund going.
To apply for the fund, email Janna@AlliesIntegrated.Health with your name, email address, and which service you’d like to access. Funds are disbursed based on availability.
Support Person or Service Animal
You are welcome to bring a friend, family member, or support worker to your appointment. Registered service dogs are also welcome.
What to Expect
We understand that for certain people knowing what you can expect helps
make your experience feel easier.
If you want to see what questions we ask on our intake form, please feel free to ask. We’re happy to share.
