Group Counselling At Allies Integrated Health

At Allies Integrated Health in Victoria, BC, group therapy and group counselling is offered by registered clinical counsellors and qualifying registered clinical counsellors.

Group therapy and group counselling are the same thing—two widely used terms for professionally facilitated mental health support in a group setting. Both offer a structured, therapist-led space to connect, share, and work through challenges like anxiety, depression, trauma, disordered eating, body image, relationships, identity exploration, and life transitions. If you’re searching for group therapy in Victoria, BC, group counselling near me, or 2SLGBTQIA+ affirming group support, this is the same kind of care—just different language, with the same goal: accessible, inclusive, community-based healing.

Before the group begins, we’ll walk you through what to expect, go over group agreements, and make sure you feel comfortable in the space. You’ll be invited to share what you’re hoping to get out of the experience, but there’s no pressure—participation always happens at your own pace.

Group Therapy and Group Counselling

Group therapy can be a powerful support for 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and others navigating complex life experiences. It offers a space to feel less alone, build connection, and share openly with people who get it. Many find it helps reduce shame, increase self-understanding, and create a sense of belonging. We also use group therapy to gently build communication skills, explore patterns in relationships, and support nervous system regulation, all while being witnessed and supported in community.

What to Expect

cupping therapy Victoria

All group counselling sessions with Rachel are facilitated by an experienced somatic counsellor who brings a warm, grounded, and affirming approach to the space.

Before the group begins, Rachel will guide you through what to expect, set clear agreements for safety and confidentiality, and invite you to participate at your own pace. There’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with—listening is always welcome too.

Each session may include a mix of guided reflection, gentle somatic (body-based) practices, and group discussion. Many people find it powerful to hear others’ experiences and realize they’re not alone, while also building tools for self-understanding and support.

Every group is shaped by the people in it. Your experience matters, and you’re invited to show up exactly as you are.
